What it is
After treatment in Korea, travel and health insurers usually ask for proof of what happened. Hospitals issue confirmations of visits or admission, copies of your records and copies of scans on disc — each with its own small fee.
What the price includes
Prices are per document (records copies are per page). Receipts are given when you pay, and an itemised bill (진료비 세부내역서) can be requested at the billing counter.
Health insurance
These fees are not covered by insurance, though some insurers reimburse them with the claim.

Which documents does my insurer need?
Typically the receipt, the itemised bill and a visit confirmation (통원확인서) or admission confirmation (입퇴원확인서) with the diagnosis code. Ask your insurer before your visit — getting everything at once saves a trip.
What are the legal maximum fees?
The Ministry of Health and Welfare caps visit, admission and treatment confirmations at ₩3,000 each, scans on CD at ₩10,000, on DVD at ₩20,000 and on film at ₩5,000, and an estimate of future treatment costs of ₩10 million or more at ₩100,000.
