What it is
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth with a titanium post set into the jawbone, topped with an abutment and a crown. HIRA lists implant prices per tooth, split by the material of the crown on top — zirconia and PFM (porcelain fused to metal) are the most common in Korea.
What the price includes
The price is per tooth and normally includes the post (fixture), abutment and crown. Bone grafts, sinus lifts, CT scans and extractions are often charged separately, so a full quote can be well above these figures.
Health insurance
National Health Insurance covers implants only for insured people aged 65 or older, up to two implants in a lifetime with a 30% co-payment. Everyone else pays the full non-covered price shown here.

Questions
Is a zirconia implant better than PFM?
Zirconia crowns have no metal, so they look more natural near the gum line; PFM crowns are a long-standing, slightly cheaper option. Durability depends on your bite and the dentist’s work more than on the label — ask what brand of fixture is used, too.
How long does an implant take?
Usually several months: the post is placed, the bone heals around it (often 2–6 months), and then the crown is fitted. Short trips may only cover one stage, so plan visits with the dentist before you book flights.
