What it is
Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful rash caused by the chickenpox virus waking up again, usually after 50. Shingrix is a non-live vaccine given in two doses, two to six months apart; SKYZoster and Zostavax are single-dose live vaccines.
What the price includes
Prices are per dose and include the injection fee. A full course often needs more than one dose. For Shingrix, multiply by two for the full course.
Health insurance
Shingles vaccines are not part of the national free programme for adults, so most people pay these prices; some local governments in Korea run their own free or discounted programmes for older residents.

Questions
Which shingles vaccine should I get?
Shingrix is non-live and in studies has protected better and for longer, which is why it costs more and needs two doses. Live vaccines are not suitable for people with weak immune systems. Ask a doctor which fits your health.
